Marion Davies Room

The Marion Davies Room features an elaborately carved king-size bed, an imposing fireplace and a balcony with a view of the San Jacinto Mountains. The room was inspired by Marion Davies, an American actress of the 1930s who lived at the Willows in later life. Lounge in the sitting area or the spacious bathroom, where you’ll find a two-person claw foot tub, pedestal sink, silver chandelier, chaise lounge, separate marble-floored shower, pillowed stone floor and a view of the desert gardens. The Marion Davies room is perfect for romantic honeymoons, anniversaries or any occasion that requires a touch of luxury. Einstein Room

Albert Einstein slept here many times while visiting Palm Springs as a guest at The Willows of owner Samuel Untermyer in the 1930s. Several pictures of Einstein at The Willows are preserved in the Cal Tech Archive and the Palm Springs Historical Society. Today, the guest room features Art Deco mahogany furniture with a king-size bed presiding over two French doors that open to a private garden patio with gorgeous view of the San Jacinto mountains. The bathroom features a claw foot slipper tub resting atop a travertine stone floor and separate tumbled stone shower. Rock Room

Inspired by natural scenery, the Rock Room, is built into the boulders of the mountain. An inviting downpour of an overhead shower splashes onto a boulder that protrudes into the bathroom. The New York Times liked the Rock Room so much, they featured it in their July 1999 issue. The rock’s earthy tones are continued in beautiful slate tile floors that course through the bathroom, separate sitting room and bedroom. Outside, French doors open onto a private entrance above the swimming pool with a view of the San Jacinto mountains. Luxurious upholstered furnishings, king-sized bed, and all the modern day amenities adorn this spacious room. Loft Room

Gorgeous mountain and garden views surround this sequestered room. The vaulted ceiling, Italian burled walnut antique furnishings and fireplace are enhanced by the cascading water of the 50-foot waterfall seen outside the windows from the vantage of the queen-sized bed. In the bathroom, French limestone wainscoting and floors surround the two-person claw foot bathtub which also has a view of the dramatic waterfall outside. Library Room

Clark Gable and Carole Lombard included The Willows on their fabled honeymoon. The Library Room features a romantic coffered ceiling, dark cherry wood hand-carved fireplace, and a secluded garden patio where modern guests can enjoy the sun, curl up with a book, or have breakfast for two. The bathroom reveals an antique pedestal sink, vanity, bath and separate two-person shower. Other furnishings include a king-sized bed, luxurious upholstered chairs and period writing desk. Waterfall Room

A crystal chandelier illuminates the sweeping private staircase to the Waterfall Room. Inside, vaulted ceilings frame a magnificent view of the 50-foot waterfall and the surrounding mountains and gardens. The warm blonde of the antique birds-eye maple dressers and king-size bed complement the handmade bathroom tiles and tumbled marble floor. Palm Room

The Palm Room has a private poolside entrance for the ultimate seclusion. For a splash inside, a generous two-person claw-foot tub allows for romantic leisurely candlelit baths. Acanthus Room

The Acanthus Room takes its name from the leaf on the crown moulding and on the 1925 alabaster chandelier that punctuates its high ceiling. This cozy room is sequestered on the pool level of the house and has been graciously appointed with a queen-size bed with an elaborate antique wrought-iron headboard, luxurious upholstered furniture and all the modern day amenities. The maple hardwood floor has been recycled and restored from a 1910 Los Angeles church, providing a rich tone to the floor. The bathroom features handmade tiles surrounding a generous tub and a tumbled stone floor. Rose Room

Rose Douras, Marion Davies’ sister lived at the Bishop house when Marion was living next door at the Mead House.
